Description
- The Salbutamol is a fast-acting bronchodilator (known as albuterol in the United States) that quickly relieves breathing problems.
- Asthma relief: It is the standard treatment for relieving acute asthma symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, chest tightness and shortness of breath.
- COPD management: It helps relieve similar symptoms in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
- Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: It can be used preventively (taken 10 to 15 minutes before physical activity) to prevent breathing difficulties triggered by exercise or other allergens.
- Other medical uses: In some cases, intravenous salbutamol is used as a tocolytic to delay premature labor or to treat hyperkalemia (high potassium levels in the blood).
