Description
Composition
- Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg. Box of one tablet (single dose).
When to take it
- As soon as possible after sex, ideally within 12 hours and at the latest within 72 hours (3 days). The sooner it is taken, the better it works.
- If you vomit within 3 hours of taking it, another tablet must be taken: ask your pharmacist for advice.
How it works
- It prevents or delays ovulation. It does not work if a pregnancy has already started.
Good to know
- It is not a regular method of contraception, and it does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
- Some medicines (St John's wort, some treatments for epilepsy or tuberculosis) can make it less effective: tell your pharmacist about them.
