Description
Main features and use
- Composition : Each strip contains 21 active tablets (containing the hormones levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol) and 7 inactive tablets (placebo).
- How it works : This medicine prevents pregnancy by blocking ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to stop sperm from passing and thinning the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation.
- Effectiveness : It is more than 99% effective when taken correctly, although real-world effectiveness is usually about 92% because of missed pills or illness.
- Dosage : Take one tablet every day at the same time, in the order shown on the strip. Once a strip of 28 tablets is finished, start the next one the following day.

Adverse effects : Common adverse effects include nausea, headache, breast tenderness and mood changes. Serious but rare risks include blood clots.
Medical history : This contraceptive is not suitable for all women, especially women over 35 who smoke, those with a history of blood clots or those with certain liver conditions.
