Main uses
SoluZinc is indicated to correct zinc deficiencies and conditions causing excessive zinc loss. Specific uses:
- Treatment of diarrhea : Used together with oral rehydration solutions (ORS) to reduce the length and severity of diarrhea, a practice recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.
- Strengthening the immune system : Helps strengthen the immune system and may help reduce the incidence of infections, including pneumonia.
- Dosage
The dosage varies depending on age and the condition, and must be given under the supervision of a healthcare professional. The syrup usually contains 10 mg of elemental zinc per 5 ml of syrup. - Infants under 6 months: 2.5 ml (half a 5 ml teaspoon) twice a day for 10 to 14 days.
- Children (general recommendation): 5 ml (one 5 ml teaspoon) twice a day for 10 to 14 days.
- Adults and older children (over 30 kg): 20 ml (four 5 ml teaspoons) one to three times a day, or as recommended by a doctor.
