Key ingredients and function
- Aluminum hydroxide (225 mg/5 mL): A slow-acting antacid that can cause constipation.
- Magnesium hydroxide (200 mg/5 mL): A fast-acting antacid that can cause diarrhea, offsetting the effect of aluminum.
- Simethicone (50 mg/5 mL): An anti-flatulent that reduces gas.
Uses
- Relieves heartburn, indigestion and excess stomach acid.
- Used for dyspepsia (indigestion) and gastritis.
Directions for use
- Shake the bottle well before use.
- Take as directed by a doctor or pharmacist, usually 10 to 20 mL as needed, between or after meals, or at bedtime.
- Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose (often 60 mL in 24 hours) or use for more than two weeks without consulting a doctor.
