Description
Main features and functions:
- Controlled volume : The built-in 150 ml chamber works like a miniature infusion bag, holding a precise amount of fluid or diluted medicine.
- Pediatric use : Mainly used in children (especially those under 6 years old) or adults who need small doses, to avoid infusing too fast.
- Flow control : Includes clamps (roller/slide) and often valves (such as activated Luer valves) to precisely control the flow and prevent air or fluid backflow.
- Medicine administration : Used for intermittent intravenous administration of medicines, the medicine being diluted in the burette and given gradually.
- Infusion rate : Usually delivers 60 drops per ml (microdrip), allowing a slower and more controlled infusion than standard sets.
How it works:
- An infusion bag is connected above the burette chamber.
- The burette chamber is filled with the desired amount of fluid or medicine. The clamps and valves are used to set the infusion rate (drops/minute).
- The fluid flows from the burette to the patient, the chamber limiting the total volume infused at one time.
